“For you are a people holy to the Lord your God. The Lord your God has chosenyou out of all the peoples on the face of the earth to be his people, his treasured possession. The Lord did not set his affection on you and choose you because you were more numerous than other peoples, for you were the fewest of all peoples. But it was because the Lord loved you and kept the oath he swore to your ancestors that he brought you out with a mighty hand and redeemed you from the land of slavery, from the power of Pharaoh king of Egypt. Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments.” Deuteronomy 7:6-9

In 2016, Uganda changed the legislation of adoption, now requiring families to live in Uganda for 12 months before going to court.

With Shelby having a full time job in the non-profit world and Josh managing our startup coworking business, financially, adoption is scary.  We trust God by answering His call to adopt and know that He is the Creator of all money and finances and people and will provide sustainably throughout this process. Throughout the past year, God has affirmed this path through fasting, prayer and the provision of many close family and friends. It is His story, His plan, and we’re all a part of His Kingdom. In this beautiful plan of His.. we've waited, wrestled, and have been faithful over the last year and a half of pursuing this process together.

We are raising funds to step out with humility in our Faith. Shelby will potentially serve as a volunteer nurse for the baby cottage that our child(ren), and Josh will be involved with the baby cottage through media or business in anyway that he can. Over the course of this 18 months, we will be adopting and doing mission work on the ground in Uganda. Two things that have been are on hearts for years. The adoption will cost an estimated $40,000 and we’re hoping to raise about $2,000 monthly for 18 months of mission support for our time on the ground. This makes our grand total an estimated $74,000.

Every Dollar Counts

We are choosing an ethical adoption which comes along side an intense process for all involved. These two factors make adoption quite the financial mountain. We want to be transparent with every cost. The list of expenses is too long to share here, however, below are the expenses we’ve paid so far, along with very near expenses coming soon.
